Terms of Service

Effective Date: January 1, 2026 · Last Updated: January 1, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website back2medicine.com ("Site") and the educational programs and services provided by Back2Medicine, an educational program founded by Essam Rashad, MD ("we," "us," or "Back2Medicine"). By accessing the Site, submitting an application, enrolling in a cohort, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Nature of Services

Back2Medicine provides educational services in the form of cohort-based learning programs, instructional content, and peer community access (collectively, the "Program"). The Program is intended to support physicians in returning to clinical practice or transitioning into the United States clinical system through structured educational content and mentorship.

2. Educational Purpose Only

The Program is strictly educational. Nothing in the Program constitutes medical advice, medical training certification, residency program participation, licensing examination preparation, or a substitute for any required medical credentialing. Completion of the Program does not confer any medical license, board certification, residency placement, or clinical privileges. Participants remain solely responsible for obtaining all required licenses, certifications, and credentials necessary to practice medicine in any jurisdiction.

3. No Affiliation with Regulatory or Credentialing Bodies

Back2Medicine is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or accredited by any medical board, residency program, licensing authority, USMLE/NBME, ECFMG, ACGME, or governmental body. The Program does not provide continuing medical education (CME) credit unless explicitly stated.

4. Application & Admission

Enrollment in the Program is by application only. Submitting an application does not guarantee admission. We review applications individually and reserve the right to decline any application at our sole discretion. Admission is contingent on receipt of payment in full and your acceptance of these Terms.

5. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to apply. The Program is designed for individuals with prior medical training or significant medical education. While we welcome applicants at various stages of their medical journey, we may decline applications that we determine are not a suitable fit for the cohort.

6. Fees & Payment

Program fees are listed in U.S. dollars and are payable in full at the time of enrollment unless a payment plan is explicitly offered and agreed to in writing. We reserve the right to change Program fees at any time, but pricing for any admitted cohort member will be honored at the rate confirmed at the time of admission.

Founding cohort pricing is available only for the inaugural cohort and only until all available seats are filled. Subsequent cohorts will be priced at the then-current standard rate.

7. Refund Policy

We offer the following refund policy:

  • Full refund: Available within 14 days of your enrollment date or before the start of Week 2 of your cohort, whichever comes first. Contact us at hello@back2medicine.com to request.
  • No refund: After Week 2 of your cohort has begun, fees are non-refundable.
  • Cohort transfer: If you cannot complete your enrolled cohort, you may request a one-time transfer to a future cohort with at least 30 days' notice prior to your cohort's end date, subject to availability and a $100 administrative fee.
  • Cancellation by us: If we cancel a cohort for any reason, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to a future cohort at no additional cost.

Refunds are processed within 10 business days to the original payment method.

8. Program Schedule & Format

Live sessions are scheduled at fixed times communicated to participants in advance. We make reasonable efforts to maintain the published schedule but reserve the right to reschedule sessions due to instructor availability, technical issues, or other unforeseen circumstances. Recordings are typically available within 24 hours of each live session and remain accessible for the duration of the Program plus 60 days after its conclusion.

9. Participant Conduct

You agree to participate in the Program in good faith and to maintain a respectful, professional environment for all cohort members. The following are prohibited:

  • Sharing of Program materials, recordings, or community discussions outside the cohort
  • Recording, screen-capturing, or redistributing live sessions
  • Harassment, discrimination, or unprofessional conduct toward other cohort members or instructors
  • Sharing patient-identifiable information from your own clinical experiences
  • Using the Program community for unrelated commercial promotion

We reserve the right to remove any participant who violates these standards, without refund.

10. Intellectual Property

All Program content — including but not limited to live sessions, recordings, slides, written materials, case discussions, and curriculum — is the intellectual property of Back2Medicine and Essam Rashad, MD, and is protected by copyright. Participants are granted a limited, non-transferable license to access the materials for personal educational use during and after the Program. Reproduction, distribution, sale, or commercial use of any Program content is strictly prohibited.

11. Use of Cases

Clinical cases discussed in the Program are anonymized and presented for educational purposes only. Participants agree not to share, reproduce, or further distribute these cases outside the Program. Participants discussing their own clinical experiences must do so in compliance with applicable patient privacy laws.

12. Disclaimers

The Program is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee any specific outcome from participation, including but not limited to: residency match, licensure, employment, examination success, or clinical performance. Individual outcomes depend on many factors outside our control.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Back2Medicine's total liability arising out of or related to the Program shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific Program engagement giving rise to the claim. We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost income, lost opportunity, or career-related damages.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Back2Medicine, its founders, instructors, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from: (a) your violation of these Terms; (b) misrepresentation of your qualifications or background in your application; (c) your conduct within the Program community; or (d) your application of Program content to clinical or career decisions, which remain your sole responsibility.

15. Modifications to the Program

We reserve the right to modify the Program curriculum, schedule, instructor, format, or other aspects of the Program. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate any material changes to enrolled participants in advance.

16. Modifications to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Site or Program after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

17. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Program shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association in Dallas County, Texas, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction. You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive the right to participate in any class action.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Back2Medicine regarding the Program.
